Strengthening African Food Processors (SAP) to Reduce Food Losses. The Project is a partnership between University of Nairobi and Purdue University (USA). The project is supported by the Rockefeller Foundation under theYieldWise initiative. The project seeks to build on the gains of University of Nairobi Postharvest Project titled ‘Establishment of Aggregation Centers for Smallholder Horticultural Farmers and Organization All Africa Postharvest Congress and Exhibition’ under which two smallholder aggregation and processing centers were established in Masii (Machakos County) and Karurumo (Embu County).

The SAP project is a two and half year project which was launched on 21-22 August, 2018 at Upper Kabete Campus. The project goal is to

Roll out the SAP project activities, the project team organized stakeholders’ inception workshops on 20th and 22nd November 2018 in Masii and Karurumo respectively. The goal of the workshops was to sensitize the key stakeholders on the SAP project and jointly define the roles and responsibilities of the project and the beneficiaries.
