ESDA - PIPELINE PROJECT PROPOSAL BASELINE SURVEY

The University of Nairobi is spearheading Eleven (11) Kenyan Universities developing a proposal for a pipeline project on how Universities can be supported to cope/mitigate the challenges of COVID-19, especially in areas of digital learning and specifically focusing on ICT infrastructure development.  

The other Universities are Daystar University, Dedan Kimathi University, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenyatta University, Kibabii University, Pwani University, South Eastern Kenya University, University of Kabianga and Zetech University.

Faculty of Agriculture Team Hosts an Intensive Short Course on Postharvest Food Loss and Waste Reduction

On 3rd to 5th May 2021 the University of Nairobi Postharvest Research team drawn from the Departments of Plant Science & Crop Protection and Food Science Nutrition and Technology hosted a 3-day intensive short course titled Postharvest Food Loss and Waste Reduction: Towards Sustainable Food Systems.

The Department of Plant Science and Crop Protection will conduct a virtual short course on Postharvest Food Loss and Waste Reduction: Towards Sustainable Food Systems.  The course will cover topics such as Food losses & Waste – Extent, Causes, Impact, Measurement/Tools, Interventions (Technologies, Innovations, Practices, Policies, Strategies, Capacity Building and more)

Training on Transformative Pedagogy (Online.)

The University of Nairobi Management has scheduled a 3-weeks online training workshop for the members of the academic staff on transformative pedagogy in higher education with special reference to asynchronous e-learning mode of delivery during the months of May and June, 2021. The training will be conducted by the Centre for Pedagogy and Andragogy (CEPA) in collaboration with Partnership for African Social and Governance Research (PASGR) team. 80% of the presentations/training sessions will be done asynchronously.
