Mycotoxigenic fungi significantly affect the production, safety and trade of agricultural crops in Africa. Despite local and international efforts, the continent is plagued by mycotoxigenic fungi that contaminate crops and cause acute and chronic diseases in humans and animals. The African Society of Mycotoxicology holds a symposium every three years aimed at bringing together all stakeholders to share ideas and expertise in control and management of these toxins.
In an effort to address the threat of mycotoxins to food production systems, health care and trade on the African continent it gives us great pleasure to announce this symposium to be held under the auspices of the International Society on Mycotoxicology (ISM).
The in-person conference will take place from September 4-7, 2022 set against the beautiful backdrop of Stellenbosch University in Stellenbosch, South Africa. See the attached poster for details.
