PROMOTING TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION IN AGRICULTURE &TRADE THROUGH CASSAVA VALUE CHAIN: A WORKING MODEL TOWARDS THE ACTUALIZATION OF PART OF KENYA BIG 4 AGENDA

Food and Nutritional insecurity is a major challenge in the two project sites namely Kilifi and Taita-Taveta Counties in Kenya. Cassava has the potential of contributing towards two of the BIG 4 Agenda namely food and nutritional security and industrialization. Major challenges to the cassava value chain are unavailability healthy planting materials, low productivity, poor marketing channels, low value addition and high post harvest losses
