ARUA Appoints Director of Research and Training

The ARUA Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Jane Ambuko as the Director of Research and Training at African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA). Professor Ambuko’s appointment is a result of a competitive recruitment process that followed a call for expressions of interest in the position. She is a Professor of Horticulture from the University of Nairobi with extensive experience in research, training and community engagement.

Dr. Cheboi’s Farmer-Led Pigeonpea Project Earns Top Recognition at APBA 2025

Dr. Juliana Cheboi awarded the 2nd best researcher with the best innovative idea for participatory action research (PAR) after pitching her VACs project idea on " Co-designinga farmer led pigeonpea improvement program in Kenya through participatory research and seed system strengthening" during the 4th African Plant Breeding Association Conference in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe 6th- 8th, October 2025.
