ACU Funded Grant Proposal Writing Training for Early Career Researchers

Through the ARUA Centre of Excellence for Non-Communicable Diseases (ACE-NCD), hosted at the University of Nairobi, Prof. Madara Ogot has secured funding from the Association of Commonwealth Universities to conduct an online Grant Proposal Writing training for early career researchers (ECR) from our five member Universities (Makerere University, University of Ghana, University of Ibadan, University of Nairobi, and University of Witwatersrand). The researchers must be involved in any one (or more) of the five thematic research areas of the ACE-NCD. Early career is defined as PhD students who are in the research phase of their work (they have successfully defended their proposal) or faculty members who received their PhDs no earlier than 2013.

All participants will be provided with small grant to cover their Internet cost ($10) and receive a coupon to download the training e-book, Write Winning Grant Proposals: A Step-by-Step Guide.

The training shall be virtual on March 29 and 30 from 12-2PM (EAT).

This is to inform students and staff that all libraries are open for services under the MOH COVID-19 guidelines.

The business hours are as follows:

Monday to Friday: 8.00am to 10.00pm

Saturday:8.00am to 5.00 pm

Sunday :JKML:9.00am to 3.00pm,(for the Others , timelines vary but are open for six(6) hours.

Those who had borrowed books during the physical closure of the University are now asked to return them to avoid penalty.

63rd graduation coming soon

The 63rd University of Nairobi graduation ceremony will be held virtually on September 25, 2020. This was revealed by the Vice-chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama in his address to the University community of July 24, 2020. 

To make it possible, students from the department are advised to continue virtual clearance from respective laboratories and offices.

Online Learning during Covid-19 Pandemic

Students are advised to keep in tough with their respective Lecturers towards the continuation of learning. Postgraduate students  in MSc. Horticulture in the department of Plant Science and Crop Protection have adapted to e-learning.
