TRAINING ON ACCESS TO ELECTRONIC INFORMATION RESOURCES FOR STUDENTS AND RESEARCHERS 1st FEBRUARY 2023

The Department of Library & Information Services has organized online training on Access to Information Resources (E-books including core-text books, E-Journals, Open Access Resources and OPAC for print books) on Wednesday, 1st February 2023. The aim of the training is to enhance utilization of library information resources. The main objective of the training will be to guide the students and researchers on how to access the subscribed electronic books, journals, core e-textbooks and open access resources that may supplement the subscribed information resources.

The department of Plant Science and Crop Protection coffered various students with degrees in their respective programs in the 68th UoN Graduation Ceremony, which was held today on 16th December 2022  . Download graduation booklet.

Horticulture Masters Students Visit Florensis in Naivasha

Horticulture Masters Students from the Department of Plant Science and Crop Protection were taken for an academic tour to Florensis in Naivasha. The farm has its headquarters in Holland and it deals with cut flowers which  are exported to the international market. The flowers are first bred in Holland and then multiplied in Kenya before they are exported. The students learned how to manage pests and diseases. The company employs IPM practices whereby hygiene is the key practice and use of biocontrols purchased at Dudutech.

LAUNCH OF ARUA COE-NCD CENTRE

This is to invite  you to the Launch of the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) Centre of Excellence for Non Communicable Diseases (ACE-NCDs), domiciled at the University of Nairobi (UoN) main campus. The event will take place on Tuesday December 6 from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM EAT at Taifa Hall 

World AIDS Day 2022

The University of Nairobi through the Directorate of University Health Services will host the commemoration of World AIDS Day on Thursday, 1st December, 2022 from 8:00 am. 

The Global  theme for this year's #WAD2022 is #Equalize while the National theme for the day 'Stop HIV Infections, adolescent pregnancies, sexual and gender based Violence' #Endtriplethreat

Several activities have been lined up for the day:

2. A Walk to raise awareness on HIV/ AIDS 

3. FREE Medical camp at the Great Court
