Horticulture Masters Students from the Department of Plant Science and Crop Protection were taken for an academic tour to Florensis in Naivasha. The farm has its headquarters in Holland and it deals with cut flowers which  are exported to the international market. The flowers are first bred in Holland and then multiplied in Kenya before they are exported. The students learned how to manage pests and diseases. The company employs IPM practices whereby hygiene is the key practice and use of biocontrols purchased at Dudutech.

This is to invite  you to the Launch of the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) Centre of Excellence for Non Communicable Diseases (ACE-NCDs), domiciled at the University of Nairobi (UoN) main campus. 3. FREE Medical camp at the Great Court

The University of Nairobi and Government of Kenya in partnership with UNESCO and UN Women and other partners invite you to the commemoration of World AIDS Day 2022 on Thursday, December 1, 2022. This year's theme is Equalize! Activities for the day include : Launch of Gender Desk at the University Health Services (UHS), A procession from UHS to Taifa Hall and a FREE Medical camp at the Great Court.

The Department of Plant Science and Crop protection held a successful annual general meeting and a welfare party on 18th  November, 2022. The Senior members of staff who have retired from the department got a chance to celebrate with their colleagues. Good words of wisdom from these members motivated and gave hope to their colleagues who were so happy and were encouraged to commit in their respective places of work

On 3rd October 2022, Kenya’s cabinet under the leadership of his Excellency President Dr. William Samoei Ruto lifted the 10-year ban on importation of GMOs. Opinion is divided on the move to lift the ban. The proponents have welcomed the move as a long overdue intervention to address food and nutrition security. On the other hand, the opponents are more sceptical about the GMOs positive impact – they are concerned about the health and environmental threats they pose.

Our Annual #UoNsports day will be held this Friday, 14th October, 2022 from 8:00  am at the Chancellor's Court. This is one day in a year that we get to play together, appreciate talent and defend championships.
